Who these terms are between
You — the person reading or using the site — and Humans Amplified, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles. By using humansamplified.org, you agree to what's below. If you don't agree, the site is not for you.
What we offer
Humans Amplified publishes free resources and event listings about people and tools in the AI space. The site is informational. We are not your lawyer, doctor, accountant, therapist, business advisor, or technology consultant — even if we sometimes write about those topics.
Text messaging (SMS) program
Humans Amplified runs an SMS program for the people we work with directly — volunteers, program participants, and the small businesses we help. We only text people who have given prior express consent, and we never message the general public or use purchased lists.
How you opt in. You can join by (1) submitting the web form at home.humansamplified.org/sms.html and checking the consent box (never pre-checked), then confirming by texting START to (323) 471-0474; (2) texting START to (323) 471-0474 directly; or (3) agreeing verbally or on a written form during in-person onboarding with our staff.
What you agree to. The consent language is: "I agree to receive text messages from Humans Amplified. Message frequency varies, about a few messages per month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."
- Message frequency varies — about a few messages per month (support replies, event and volunteer reminders, program updates, and account or verification notices).
- Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
- Opt out any time: reply STOP to cancel. You'll get one final confirmation message and nothing more.
- Need help? Reply HELP or email [email protected].
We record your name, mobile number, and date of consent. We never sell or share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties for their marketing — see our Privacy Policy for full details.
Acceptable use
You can read, share, link to, and quote anything on the site. You agree not to:
- Try to break, scrape, overload, or attack the site or the server it runs on.
- Republish whole pages as your own without credit.
- Use the site or our name to mislead anyone about who they're hearing from.
- Use the site to harm, harass, or defraud anyone else.
Reasonable use of small quotes with credit is welcome. If you're not sure, email us — we're easy.
Resources, links, and partners
The site lists tools, courses, partners, and community projects. Including something on the site is not an endorsement, a guarantee, or a recommendation that it's right for you. We don't get paid to list anything. Things change — a tool that worked when we wrote about it may have changed pricing, gone offline, or been acquired since. Verify before you commit money or time.
Links to outside sites are provided for convenience. We don't control what those sites do, and we're not responsible for what's on them.
Intellectual property
The text, layout, and design of the site are ours unless we've credited a third-party source. The Humans Amplified name and logo belong to the organization. You may quote and excerpt with credit. You may not republish full pages or pass our work off as yours.
Some assets on the site (fonts, framework code, partner logos) are licensed from third parties. Their licenses apply.
No warranty
The site is provided as-is. We try to keep what's published accurate and current, but we make no guarantees about completeness, accuracy, fitness for any particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. The internet breaks. So do servers. We may take the site offline at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Humans Amplified is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages that arise from your use of the site or from anything you read, downloaded, or relied on here. If something on this site costs you money, time, or peace of mind, that's on the underlying decision you made — not on us.
Changes to the site or these terms
We may update, rewrite, or remove any page on the site at any time. We may update these terms at any time — when we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes go to the state and federal courts of Los Angeles County, California.
