Who we are
Humans Amplified is a nonprofit based in Los Angeles, California. This site (humansamplified.org) is the place where we publish what we're working on, list resources, and tell the community what we're up to.
What we collect
Nothing automatic. This site is plain static HTML. We don't run analytics scripts, we don't load tracking pixels, and we don't profile visitors.
You give us information in two ways, both voluntary:
- Forms. The contact, get-involved, and business-help forms on this site collect what you type in — typically your name, email, and your message. Submissions land in the contact system we use to read and reply to them.
- Email. If you email [email protected], we receive whatever you put in the email.
The site stores one small preference in your browser's local storage: whether you dismissed the donate banner, so it stays dismissed for a week. That value never leaves your browser and isn't a tracking cookie.
What we do with what you send us
We read it and respond if a response makes sense. If you asked to stay informed, we'll email you updates — and stop the moment you ask. We don't sell, share, or rent your information. We don't use it for advertising. If you ask us to delete what you've sent, we delete it.
Text messages (SMS)
If you opt in to text messages from Humans Amplified — on our SMS sign-up page, in person on a written consent form, or by texting START to (323) 471-0474 — here is how we handle it:
- We never sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent. Mobile opt-in information is not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes, and it is not passed to anyone outside Humans Amplified.
- Message frequency: a few messages per month. Frequency may vary.
- Message and data rates may apply. Those come from your mobile carrier, not from us.
- Opt out anytime by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].
- We keep a record of your consent — your name, mobile number, and the date — only so we can honor and document it.
Third parties
The site loads a few things from outside servers, all standard for small websites:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — to render the Manrope font and the Material Symbols icons. Google may log your IP address when your browser fetches a font file. We don't see this data.
- jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — to load the small animation libraries used on the site.
- Form widget (link.techjoint.us) — the embedded forms are served by the form platform we use; it receives what you submit so we can read it.
- Stripe — donations are processed on Stripe's secure checkout page. We never see your card details.
- ElevenLabs CDN (eleven-public-cdn.elevenlabs.io) — used on the partners page to display the ElevenLabs logo image.
If you'd rather block these, any standard content blocker will handle it. The site degrades gracefully — text and layout still work.
Hosting
The site is hosted on a small server we run ourselves and routed through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, user agent, requested URL) for abuse prevention and tunnel routing. We do not have access to or store these logs ourselves.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
If you're in California, the EU, or anywhere else with a privacy law on the books — your rights apply. We hold nothing on you beyond what you've personally submitted through a form or email. Want it deleted or want to know what we have? Write to [email protected] and we'll handle it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever start collecting more than what's described here, we'll update this page and bump the effective date at the top. We won't quietly turn on tracking and hope you don't notice.
